Drawn by hand
Every commission begins as a full-size cartoon on paper — the design worked out before a single sheet is scored.
The workshop is a little dusty just now
Emerald Stained Glass is a studio where windows, panels and suncatchers are drawn, cut and leaded by hand — one piece of coloured glass at a time.
Our website is being rebuilt with the same patience we give to the work itself: measure twice, score once, and let the light decide. It will be ready soon.
Laying out the pattern…

How a panel comes together
Every commission begins as a full-size cartoon on paper — the design worked out before a single sheet is scored.
Coloured glass is cut to the line and joined with came or copper foil, then soldered into one strong panel.
Windows, panels and suncatchers built to suit the room and the way the light falls through it.
